Guerilla gardening update

Remember our guerilla gardening project? It just dawned on us here at the Kasper Stromman Design Blog that it is about time we checked up on that.

For those of you who haven’t followed the project from the beginning we basically planted some avocado seeds in the backyard of the Kasper Stromman Design Blog International Headquarters backyard, and now it’s time to reap the rewards.

Look. We’re not expecting a lush forest of avocado trees or anything, because that would be unrealistic. But at least something would be nice.

And what do you know – if it isn’t one handsome autumn avocado!

And there we have it, folks. Guerilla gardening – it really is as easy as that.

Where are all the avocado trees?

A couple a weeks ago we planted some avocado seeds in the backyard of the Kasper Stromman Design Blog Worldwide Headquarters backyard. This we did because we’re dangerous outlaw guerilla gardeners, but also since we like avocados. They’re the salmon of the plant world, you know.

We figure our avocado trees should be sprouting handsomely by now – but problem is we have no idea what they should look like?

Okay, guess there’s nothing yet. You know, we were kind of hoping to make some fresh guacamole today.

This is highly disappointing.

The Kasper Stromman Design Blog will continue to monitor the process of the Guerilla Avocado Garden through the summer, even though we’re not really satisfied with the progress at the moment.

Guerilla gardening

Guess what? Spring is here, and we suddenly realized we’re totally into guerilla gardening here at the Kasper Stromman Design Blog. Of course we don’t call it that. We call it “surprise garden design”.

Also, we refuse to garden anything lame, like carrots. No, we’re going for avocados.

For our surprise garden spot we chose the lush soil behind the Kasper Stromman Design Blog Worldwide Headquarters. It shall be rich with avocado trees (Persea Americana) come autumn.

Don’t want to get too carried away or anything, but we expect this urban surprise garden to have some young avocados sprouting at the end of this week, possibly beginning of next week.

There! Provoking change through direct action – that’s what we’ve always been about.

The Kasper Stromman Design Blog will be monitoring the process of the Guerilla Avocado Garden through the summer.
