ILLUSTRATOR OF THE MONTH / SEPTEMBER 2012: KASPER STRÖMMAN
Kasper Strömman is a graphic designer, illustrator and comic artist from Helsinki. He has graduated with a degree in graphic design from the Camberwell College of Arts, London in 2001. Kasper’s style is very clear and strong, and the drawing instrument of choice is a classic black marker.
Kasper works at the the Helsinki-based Super8 studio. As a hobby, Kasper is blogging about Finnish design in his hilarious blog: http://kasperstromman.tumblr.com.
Be sure to read Kasper’s interview here.KASPER’S SIX FAVOURITES: Art equipment: Fat black marker
Drawing subject: A tree with a MILLION leaves
Comic character: Garfield, mainly because it’s such a mystery how it can be so unfunny and still be published year in and year out. I want to crack that code.
Magazine: I truly enjoy HS Nyt. I never skip an article and even flick through the TV listings despite the fact I hardly watch TV.
Illustrator: Ilon WiklandClassical Finnish design object: “Minitakka” by Risto-Matti Ratia.
