New design tram stop opening gig

The new Stefan Lindfors designed tram stops were unveiled in Helsinki last Thursday, with the designer himself playing drums to some didgeridoo based music on top of the structure. Naturally we here at the Kasper Stromman Design Blog were present for such a remarkable event.

But here’s the thing: nothing really out of the ordinary happened at this gig. That’s why we are instead going to try to recreate what didn’t happen at the event. Here we go.

The band didn’t start off the evening by playing a nice medley of transport themed songs, including the Wheels on the Bus and Rauli Badding Somerjoki’s Bussi Somerolle. Stefan Lindfors also didn’t suddenly do some unexpected rapping on top of a track. Wow.

At some point Mr. Lindfors didn’t play a “bitching” drum solo, and definitely didn’t end it by throwing his drum sticks into the audience. The girl who didn’t catch them did also not swear to keep them forever as a design talisman, nor did an entrepreneurial young man sell them on eBay.

Then at the very end of the gig Eero Aarnio didn’t suddenly show up and perform a version of Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train. This move wasn’t met by loud cheering from the crowd.

A truly magical evening for us here at the Kasper Stromman Design Blog.
